SHORT (GREEN) COURSE
MCC has a professionally designed 18-hole short course – the Green Course. At 3,951 metres, this course is fully rated by Golf NSW for competition and handicap purposes.
A 9-hole competition on the Green Course is held every Thursday morning, unless otherwise notified. Play alternates week to week between the front and back 9’s and tee times can be booked on-line as for other club competitions. The course is also available to members for social games, to green fee players and to juniors.
On the Green Course, men and women use the same teeing positions but individual holes are indexed differently for men and women.
On most holes the teeing position for the Green Course is identified by a green disk set into the surface of the fairway. To assist in locating the disk, a post with a green top has been placed at the side of the fairway adjacent to the disk. If no above ground daily markers are in place, tee off within 2 club lengths of the green disk but no nearer the hole. Where artificial teeing mats are in place, players must use the mat.
An ACT Short Course Championship is held in November each year. This is a stroke event over 18 holes and is open to all players with a GA handicap.
